ABOUT THE ARBITER

 

Q | What is The Arbiter?

A | The Arbiter is aweb-based software program used to assign officials & manage teamschedules. 

 

Q | Should The Arbiter be considered my master schedule?

A | Yes, after the Assignor has published the schedule on Arbiter.

A | Your scheduleshould always match The Arbiter  

 

Q | How often should I check The Arbiter?

A | Frequently andparticularly before game days

A | Especially after game change requests
 

SIGNING IN

 

Q | How do I sign in?

A | User Name: E-Mailaddress listed in your league directory.

A | Password: Yourlast name by default. Please change your password for security purposes.

 

Q | What if I experience log-in errors

A | Most commonerrors are:

 

Internal Security

Some companies may restrict access of certain websites.

Solution | Ask your I.T.department if ArbiterSports.com is an authorized URL.

 

Invalid E-Mail Address

Solution | The e-mailaddress we have on file could be from your schools or a personal address.

 

Invalid Password

Solution A | The p/w may becase sensitive

Solution B | From the sign-inpage, click on ”Forgot your password”

Solution C | Submit a Request For Password form

 

“You don’t have permission to sign in”

Solution | Remind yourAssignor to turn on this permission

   

“Your session has timed out”

Solution A | Try this: Checkand or clear your “cookies” in your browser settings

Solution B | Try this: MakeArbitersports.com a “trusted site”

CELL PHONE & PDA’s ACCESS

 

Q | Does The Arbiter work on cell phones &PDA’s

A | The Arbiter doesnot have a compressed mobile version. Due to its size and bandwidth,

     Loading & viewing may be difficult. Call your service provider fortechnical assistance.

 

iPhones | Yes!

 

BlackBerry Storm

If you are having trouble signing into the arbiter on your Blackberrymobile device here is a potential fix.

 

Go to: Browser --> Menu Key --> Options --> Browser Configuration--> Browser Identification -->

Set this to either Firefox or Internet Explorer. Now every website willthink you're a PC rather than a phone. (If you save the site as a bookmark youcan define that bookmark as Internet Explorer or Firefox)

 

This was written for the Blackberry Storm and is known to work for theBlackberry Bold. This option may not be available for all models or may beaccessed in a different manner

 

Blackberry Other

1. Go into your Browser application.

2. Once the Browser is open; hit your Blackberry button to bring up themenu for the Browser.

3. Use the wheel to click "Options", and again you will need touse the wheel to select "Browser Configuration".

4. Check "Support JavaScript" and "Allow JavaScript Pop-ups".Once those two options have been selected, you will need to click the"Back" button on the opposite side of the wheel. That will bring up awindow that will allow you to save the changes you just made.

 

PDA’s

Most PDA’s can open Arbitersports.com. Loading & viewing issignificantly better that a Non-PDA device.

Call your service provider for technicalassistance.

ARBITER GAME REMINDERS

 

Q | Who sends the Game Reminders?

A | Auto generated byThe Arbiter, 2 days in advance

 

Q | What action should I take?

A | Read the remindercarefully for teams, dates, sites, times, etc.

B | Contact youropponent to verify the game. This creates a check & balance to matchschedules.

C | Contact theAssignor if the game reminder is inaccurate.

 

REPORTING LATE OFFICIALS

 

Q | How do I report a late official?

A | Send us ane-mail.

 

Q | When is an official considered late?

A | The Arbiter gametime (usually earlier) is when the official is expected to arrive.
